
DC property taxes are due again. They are billed in two installments, with the first half being due March 31 and the second half being due September 15.
The first bills are usually mailed out in February by the DC Office of Tax and Revenue, while the second bills are mailed in August.
Property tax bills sometimes create confusion for DC home sellers because the bill covers the previous six-month period. Real estate settlement attorney Ben Raffel explains DC property tax bills in this video.
Note that the video originally ran last February and references the March deadline. But the same information holds true for the September 15 deadline.
